Petersburg (FLA.) City Council unanimously approved a decision for the March 1 race of St. Petersburg's 2026 Firestone Grand Prix.
Indycar Race Week will be February 27-March 1 and the temporary circuit St. 1.8 miles on the streets of St. Petersburg will have a 14 -round configuration. The dates are the same calendar week as this year's race that opened the season of Indycar.
“The 2025 event was another tremendous success with record crowds for three days. He said. “After meeting with St. Petersburg city staff and multiple stakeholders, our teams of Indycar and Green Savoree racing promotions agree to maintain this big city tradition on similar dates.
Alex Palou, the Indycar series champion three times in Spain's 2023 and 2024, is for the first time on March 2. He won in St. Petersburg. Chip Ganassi Racing Team Scott Dixon from New Zealand was second and Josef Newgarden's third of Team Penske.
