R Ashwin stops the name of MS Dhoni during the panelist Youtube video

The debate appeared in the midst of the IPL season, where former South Africa and Royal rivals Bengaluru (RCB) analyst Prasanna Agoram criticized CSK Management’s experienced players such as Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Ravichandran Ashwin, the spin maestro from Chennai Super Kings (CSK), recently made headlines for halting a panelist mid-discussion during one of his YouTube videos. Ashwin had previously vowed not to talk about CSK or their matches in his videos following a controversy stemming from an earlier post.

In his latest video, Ashwin was joined by two panelists as they analyzed recent IPL 2025 matches. True to his promise, the group chose to steer clear of any mention of CSK’s previous encounter against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

During the discussion, a panelist began speaking about leadership qualities in IPL, referencing players such as Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer, and MS Dhoni. Ashwin immediately intervened, requesting the conversation not include CSK or any of its players, ensuring his vow remained unbroken.

Ashwin blocks Dhoni chat during YouTube show

I’m so happy that you won the match. Ashwin, the only thing is that you’ve led the team a lot. The team that you’ve led has won the TNPL. What I feel is that leadership is very, very important. That leader is someone like Sanju, someone like Shreyas Iyer, someone like Thala Dhoni,” said the panellist.

The controversy unfolded midway through the IPL season when former South Africa and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) analyst, Prasanna Agoram, criticized CSK management’s choice to field Noor Ahmad instead of utilizing experienced players like Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.

The remarks sparked widespread debate and gained traction when reporters brought up the issue during a press conference with CSK head coach Stephen Fleming, intensifying the situation further.
