List of players excluded from the BCCI Central Agreement 2025

Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan returned to the central contracts list after they missed them before.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced its central contract list for the 2024-25 season, and while several players have been retained or promoted, a few notable names have been excluded from this year’s contracts. Among the most surprising omissions are Shardul Thakur, Avesh Khan, Ravichandran Ashwin, KS Bharat, and Jitesh Sharma.
Excluded players from BCCI central contract
- Shardul Thakur has struggled with injuries and inconsistent performances, missing out on international matches since December 2023. Ravichandran Ashwin retired from international cricket in December 2024, making him ineligible for a contract. On the other hand, Avesh Khan has been a regular in India’s T20I setup but was left out due to inconsistent performances despite a strong IPL season.
- Jitesh Sharma last played for India in January 2024 and failed to make the squad for the T20 World Cup. KS Bharat lost his place as a backup wicketkeeper with Dhruv Jurel emerging as a stronger contender.
