GT Captain Shubman Gill Pink City Blue Pains, Global 84 in RR’s house scores

This is the fourth fifty of Gill’s IPL 2025 season. In the last match, the GT captain had 55 balls 90 points.
Shubman Gill has entered the zone. The Gujarat Titans (GT) captain was scoring runs in the early stages of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season but wasn’t at his fluent best. But ever since Gill scored a half-century against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), he’s found his best game.
In the last match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), it looked like no bowler could dismiss. This is what bowlers feel when going against Virat Kohli as well. The difference is that Gill can be more destructive. Especially from the start of the innings, unlike Kohli, who usually gets going after getting well set.
Gill batted like a dream against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur. He raced off the blocks, while his batting partner Sai Sudharsan struggled. After the powerplay, the GT captain had scored 25 (16). Considering the Sawai Mansingh Stadium pitch isn’t a high-scoring one, Gill was going well.
In the next 13 balls, he amassed another 25 runs. And reached his fifty in just 29 balls. But Gill wasn’t in any mood for stopping. He motored along. Jos Buttler was firing on all cylinders, and Gill took a backseat. But he never stopped. The GT captain entered the eighties, and another was up for grabs again.
He had failed to get there in the last match and would have wanted to get his 6th IPL hundred. But luck wasn’t on his side. He holed out while looking to smash Maheesh Theekshana out of the park. But his 84-run knock was as glorious as they come. And he wouldn’t mind missing out on a century, as the main objective was to maximise the fact that he was set.
