No PSL vs IPL anymore, please! Multan Sultan calls the owner of the PCB to change the window, the draft for auction scrap

Until a few years ago, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was generally called the second best franchise league in the world. Of course, the Indian Premier League (IPL) was only at the top. Nobody else approached. It has been cut so far, not even among the first three leagues.

Fields, players and crowds. It’s all a problem. PSL decided to pit the PSL against the IPL, as if the PSL did not suffer enough. PCB has decided to change its usual windows from February to March due to the Champions Cup that Pakistan is hosting.

This meant that the PSL 2025 season clashed with IPL 2025. Team owners were already paying attention to this. They called on the PCB to change the tournament window, but the board of directors refused to do so, and implied that it could continue to progress. And they had the result of that great time.

Multan Sultan owners hope to change in the PSL window

The PSL 2025 season can see the lowest participation and due to the lack of foreign players, the quality of the game may be at the lowest level. Therefore, Ali Khan Tareen, owner of Multan Sultans, begged the PCB to take the PSL window forward.

“In the last 10 years, PSL has hosted some iconic stars that helped to create our league. The players are like this: Darren Sammy, Shane Watson, Rilee RosSouw and more. But we should ask ourselves: If we continue to conflict with the IPL window of this caliber, if we continue to conflict with the IPL window? I really don’t feel the window in this heat. Auction instead of PSL Draft

Ali Khan Taran did not stop there. He also urged the PCB to change the draft model. Unfairly, with other franchise leagues such as PSL, Face and Big Bash League, it uses a draft system for team selection. In a draft, players are allocated in a category with a fixed sum. This means that each team is equal and can choose players from each category in one order.

However, the owners of Multan Sultan do not want this. A player for PSL thinks that the auction will be better. Increases the buzz. Permutations and combinations. Fans get involved. As many of them know, an IPL auction is an event in itself. That’s what Tareen wants for PSL.
