Jack Draper dismantle Tommy Paul to reach Madrid Open Quarter

Jack Draper returned to Holger Rune on Sunday, March 16, 2025 during the BNP Paribas Open in California, California.

Jack Draper, the fifth seed from the Great Britain, crossed the US 6-2, 6-2 from Tommy Paul on Wednesday to reach Madrid Open Quarter finals.

Draper had four ACs in the clay court and won 86 percent of its first service scores, while only 53 percent of the winning points in the first service and the first service won.

“The more matches I play at this level will help my trust on the surface.” He said. “Obviously today, this kind of win against someone who ranks 12th in the world is a big thing for me.

“I am satisfied with the matches, my education and the way I approach everything.”

Draper did not give any chance of breaking during the match, while he transformed four of the six breaking points.

In another round of 16 matches, Lorenzo Musetti number 10 from Italy, Alex de Minaur 6-4, 6-4.

Musetti turned three (30 percent) out of 10 break points in the win against the Australian native. He shot 15 winners and made 19 mistakes.

On the other side, De Minaur had only five winners, 27 forced mistakes and won only 11 (23 percent) of 48 return score.

Gabriel Diallo from Canada also reached the neighborhoods with 6-4 sorrow with 6-4 sorrows of Bulgaria, 7-5, 7-6 (7).

Both men with Diallo eight AS notched and 77 percent of their first service (75 of 97) won points. Dimitrov’s first service scores of 59 percent (55 of 94) won 14 AS.

In a close -up match, Diallo had 39 winners of Dimitrov and 31 winners compared to 29 errors and 26 forced mistakes.

Diallo will decide against Musetti in one of the quarter -final matches on Thursday.

Matteo Arnaldi from Italy upset 6-3, 7-5 on Frances Tiafoe 16 of the United States.

Arnaldi limited Tiafoe with a 14 percent success rate (7 to 1), while he transformed three of the five break points in the win.

Italian will face Draper, the best seed of the tournament in another quarter -final match on Thursday.
