In the latest RCB podcast, the 36-year-old spoke about his ex-teammate Mark Boucher, who changed the way he played. Virat went on to reveal the exact chat he had with the South African. “Out of all the players I played with, initially, Mark Boucher had the biggest impact on me.

“He figured out what my weaknesses could be. If I wanted to go to the next level, that is what I needed to do, without me asking him anything. He told me, ‘when I come to commentate in India 3-4 years from now, if I don’t see you play for India, you would do a disservice to yourself’. He stunned me with the conversations he had with me,” Virat revealed.

Meanwhile, this season too the batter has been excellent, and has already scored 443 runs in 10 games, including six fifties. As a result, he team looks tipped to make the IPL playoffs easily.
