After the end of two months of IPL, the Indian men's cricket team will visit England for a five -game test series. This will be a very important series for India, as this will be the beginning of the 2025-27 cycle of the World Test Championship for them. Rohit Sharma and Co could not complete the error of reaching the WTC finals after losing Australia in the five-game border-victory cups in early January. The series was really a disaster for India because they lost 1-3.
While the election committee was preparing for short list players, a report from Indian Express announced that Pacer Jasprit Bumrah will soon be appointed as Vice President against England. Pacer was appointed as his deputy in Rohit's tests against Australia and even directed India in the first and fifth match.
After the Australian tests, Bumrah remained immobilized due to the back injury and recently returned to the field during IPL. In order to keep Bumrah's workload under control, the report said that Pacer was not likely to play all of the five matches against England, and that he wanted to give his assistant to a player who will play all the games of the administration.
“We want a player who will be available for the whole of the five test matches and he should be given the role of the assistant captain. Bumrah will not play all of the five matches, so we don't want to assign different deputies for different games. The captain and the assistant captain will be certain to play five tests,” he said. Indian Express.
The report also wanted to assign a “young face” as the deputy captain of the management. Looking at the current party, the decision can be made between Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant and Kl Rahul.
The five -game test series between India and England will start on June 20 with the first match in Leeds.
Speaking about the WTC 2023-25 finals, the summit conflict will be played between Australia and South Africa in Lord's as of 11 June.
