New Delhı: Sunil Gavascar, the legend of Cricket, criticized the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) for changing the rules to meet MS Dhoni as a “non -covered player” before the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. In the Sportstar column, Gavaskar gave alarm on the rising salaries of unlocked players and warned that such movements could damage the future of the Indian jack.
In five years, BCCI scrapped a rule that enabled an Indian player who had not played internationally crickets to be accepted as “without cover – in 2021. This enabled Chennai Super Kings to protect Dhoni for RS 4 Crore under the unloled player category.
