“I’m sure …”: Former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly reacts to the suspension of IPL 2025 in the midst of India-Pakistan tension

Former Indian Capain and a former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly continued to increase the tension between India and Pakistan, and the tournament stopped in the middle of the season. The match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was abandoned on Thursday for security reasons, and the next day the event was suspended for seven days. Ganguly showed his belief in BCCI and said the board of directors would complete the tournament.
“I saw that IPL was suspended for 7 days today. BCCI will complete it. BCCI is productive. It was another emergency during Covid. India today.
In particular, this is not the first season of IPL standing in the middle. In 2021, the tournament was postponed due to the threat of the COVİD-19 in India. The pressure continued and four months later it was completed in the United Arab Emirates.
“Covid -like situation is different. BCCI will work according to the directives of the Indian government.” He said.
“Jawans is our pride for what they do every day, not because of war. We are here for them.”
On Friday, the BCCI confirmed that IPL 2025 had been repealed immediately after a week after the India-Pakistan border tensions. The Board added that the new program and venues of the tournament will be announced in time after evaluating the situation.
“More updates about the new program and venues of the tournament, consulting with the relevant authorities and stakeholders, will be announced in time after a comprehensive assessment of the situation.” He said.
The decision was taken by BCCI after the border tensions intensified on Thursday night, and the air strokes and drones from Pakistan seized the sky while Jammu, Udhampur and Pathankot caused interruptions. After completing only 10.1 of the first landing, it led to the game between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.
When the airport and other northern cities in Dharamshala were closed, both the PBKS and DC players and support personnel, match officials, commentators, broadcasting team members and other key IPL personnel were released from Dharamshala to a special train organized by Delhi by a bus.
BCCI also said that the decision was taken by the IPL Management Council, which consists of SAİKİA and IPL President Arun Dhumal, and also after the representatives of the players and the franchise owners who conveyed the concerns and emotions of the broadcaster, sponsors and fans.
