Miami Grand Prix experienced a major decline in television viewers for the fourth edition of the Southern Florida event on Sunday.

According to Nielsen Ratings, the race won by McLaren’s Oscar Piastri attracted an average of 2.17 million viewers in ABC. This represented a 30 percent decrease in last year’s race, which broke a record for Formula 1 rating on the United States television with an average of 3.07 million viewers.

Silver Primer is that the numbers of Sundays have increased by 7 percent from the 2023 Miami GP and that it arrives without a live sports activity in ABC. 2024 Miami GP was released immediately after the 7th match of the first round playoff series.

However, this year’s Miami GP was seen as an important Turnus test that evaluates whether the F1 media rights agreement ended with ESPN at the end of this season. The two US -based races continue the program in Austin in October of Las Vegas Grand Prix in November.

Piastri’s win on Sunday, his teammate Lando Norris ranked second with 2.4 million viewers, and was rated as the third most watched F1 race on US television. All of the first four points were occupied by Miami GP, who signed a 10 -year extension with F1 until 2041 season last week.
