The PBKS vs DC match was suspended around 9:35 PM on Thursday after an unexpected blackout at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium. Officially, a floodlight failure was cited, but reports later confirmed air raid alerts were issued in nearby regions like Pathankot—just 90 km from the venue—after Pakistan launched aerial attacks. Prioritising safety, the BCCI suspended the fixture midway, with just about 25% of the match (10.1 overs) completed. Both Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh hit fifties within that period.

Why so much confusion over PBKS vs DC clash?

The IPL website has marked the match as “abandoned,” leading to confusion. Per MCC Law 12.9, abandonment is allowed due to uncontrollable external circumstances, but the IPL points table was not updated to reflect a shared point.
