Virat Kohli was close to becoming only the third player to surpass 1,000 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), alongside David Warner and Rohit Sharma, before the season. The star batter achieved this feat during RCB’s opening clash against KKR at Eden Gardens on March 22. He made a blazing 59* and smashed 1000+ runs against KKR.

He holds a solid batting average of 40.84 and a striking rate of 133.63 against KKR. The former India captain has registered one century and seven half-centuries, with his best performance being a blistering 100 off just 58 balls.

Virat Kohli ranks third among the highest run scorers against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL history. He trails only David Warner (1,093) and Rohit Sharma (1,083) on this prestigious list. However, Kohli can surpass both of them if he makes over 72 runs at the Chinnaswamy on May 17.

Virat Kohli’s Record vs KKR At Eden Gardens

Virat Kohli’s lone IPL century against KKR came at Eden Gardens in 2019, where he has scored 371 runs in 12 innings. His average and strike rate are slightly lower than his overall record against KKR. In his last Eden Gardens outing, he scored 18 off seven balls, but RCB will hope for a big knock in the IPL 2025 opener.
