ATP ROUNUP: Alexander Zverev, Stellar Start in Hamburg

Seed 1 Alexander Zverev, on Monday, Bitpanda Hamburg Open’s first round of German American elexandar Kovacevic 6-1, 7-6 (5) defeated.
In 2023, Zverev won the championship in Hamburg and proceeded in the final last year before falling into French Arthur Fils. Russian third seed Andrey Ruber Bosnia and Damir Dzumhur of Herzegovina 6-4, 6-3, was not only high seed on Monday.
The American Seventh Seed Brandon Nakashima led the first 6-5 when Belgian rival Raphael Collignon had to retire, while Justin Engel Jan-Lennard Struff 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4) clamped in a war between German joker cards. Other winners include Spanish Roberto Bautista Agut, Alexandre Muller from France and Jiri Lehecka from the Czech Republic.
Gonet Geneva is open
The seed number 8 left the first set of Matteo Arnaldi, but the French Hugo Gaston 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-4 in the first round of Switzerland.
Arnaldi watched 4-2 in the second set before winning four straight games and returned the first two of the third set. ACES had 8-0 edge, saved 5 out of 8 breaks and transformed 5 out of 9 breaking points in a two-hour 24-minute match.
The other two matches went to Monday: Kei Nishikori from Japan defeated American learning Tien 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, and France’s Quentin Halls, Spain’s Jaume Munar 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5). British qualifiers Cameron Norrie, Austrian qualifying Sebastian ofner, Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics and Great Britain’s Jacob Fearnley.
