Big name, no game – IPL 2025’s five largest flopes

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), there was a fascinating 18th edition with too many drama both on the field and outside the field. The tournament resumed again on May 17 after a 10 -day hiatus due to political tensions between India and Pakistan. Although the season witnessed some unforgettable performances, there were several major players who did not meet their reputation and failed this year. From Glenn Maxwell from Rishabh Pant to Jake Fraser -mcgurk, from Muhammad Shami to Rachin Ravindra – from Five stars that shine in this print.
1. Glenn Maxwell (Punjab Kings)
Glenn Maxwell’s IPL shares received a big hit, and the Australian T20 superstar continued to hug for a second season after the finger injury was able to collect only 48 runs in a six -strokes in six strokes before removing him out of the tournament. Maxwell scored four single -digit scores and looked at the sea against Spinners this season – only 30 running 29 delivery by more slowly 29 delivered by 6 times.
Maxwell also had a terrible run in IPL 2024, and for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, nine runs in only 52 runs in 52 runs. A change in the franchise did not change Australia’s multi -faceted reserves.
2. Rishabh Pant (Lucknow Super Giants)
Rishabh Pant was purchased by Lucknow Super Giants for 27 Crore that made it the most expensive player of IPL Auction History! However, the LSG captain could not deliver it as a patch of the T20 dough between 2017-2019 and the summit in IPL. The Pant managed to make only 128 runs in 11 matches at a shocking strike ratio at a shocking strike – the lowest strike ratio among the 67 doughs that throw at least 100 running in the season!
Pant scored 6 single -digit scores this season and the other two trips failed. In a case against Chennai Super Kings, he produced only an important stroke (63 of 49 balls). The pant’s sluggish scoring ratio has made a great pressure on the LSG moderate, and one of the most important reasons why they reversed the levies after a fluffy start to the season.
3. Mohammed Shami (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
Mohammed Shami became one of the most productive small little door buyers in the last five editions of the tournament. In fact, Shami was the highest small door buyer in IPL between 2019-2023, and in these five seasons, a total of 106 small gates collected a total of 75 trips at a 16.2 sensational strike rate.
Shami’s dramatic decrease in the form of IPL 2025 was one of the most important reasons for the poor of the new franchise – Sunrisers Hyderabad, the finalists of the last season. Experienced Indian Pacer chose 6 small doors in an average of 56.17 to 9 games in the competition, but also very expensive – Shami was shot around the park and has a work rate of 11.23. Pacer was so equal that he fell from SRH, who played XI for several matches.
4. Jake Fraser-McGurk (Delhi Capitals)
Jake Fraser McGurk was one of the shining lights of the revolutionary IPL season last year, and at the rate of 234.04 amazing strikes, only 330 runs in nine Inning – it was the highest strike rate in the tournament among all the doughs that made at least 100 running!
However, Cricket is a great level and Fraser-McGurk learned that the hard path learned in IPL 2025. Before Delhi fell from XI for his capitals, he scored only 55 runs in six inning at a rate of 105.76 strikes. Interestingly, the young Australian sensation fought rapidly this season.
5. Rachin Ravindra (Chennai Super Kings)
IPL 2025 had to be a big breakthrough season for Rachin Ravindra – T20 inclination. Unfortunately, the New Zealand star would have to wait a little longer after a season that disappointed with the bat for Chennai Super Kings. Ravindra had only one fifty plus score in 8 inning. Apart from the 45 delivery of CSK in the opening match against the Mumbai Indians in Chepauk, he did not have much to write about the house.
Ravindra had open failures in four Inning and could not turn their beginnings into important points in three people. Interestingly, Ravindra threw its troubles against Pace this season with an average of 21.4 and 123 strikes against fast pottery.
