Season Opening Blowout Loss for Storm Inkenge Mercury

Skylar Diggins scored 24 points and Seattle Storm broke a franchise record with 14 assists for winning 77-70 against Phoenix Mercury, who visited a home opener on Friday.

Nkeka Ogwumike scored 24 points with eight rebounds, and Gabby Williams added 11 points after revenge after the storm (2-1) will open the season against Mercury.

Diggins tied the Sue Bird’s storm record for assists in a game.
