Why could Pakistan kidnap the Cricket at the Olympics in La 2028?

After a century, Kriket is preparing to make a historical return to the Olympic scene in 2028 Los Angeles games.

Sports will take part in both male and female T20 events competing for six teams gold. This points to the first Olympic Cricket competition since the 1900 Paris games.

Kriket will compete for the first time at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics in 128 years. Both men and women will fight for the gold medals in the T20 competitions.

A total of 90 players will represent their country that promises an exciting contribution to the Olympic series.

Although the final competence process is still being developed, the race is expected to be quite competitive. As a host nation, the US is likely to secure the automatic qualification and gives them the chance to leave a mark on the home territory.

Currently, India, Australia, England, New Zealand and West Indian Islands lead the ICC T20 Men’s rankings, while Australia, England, New Zealand, India and South African dominated women’s rankings. Although the rankings change as the Olympics approach, these nations are likely to be strong contestants.

Therefore, unless the rankings in both male and female jacks heal, the Pakistan Olympics can completely miss. Currently, Pakistan Men’s Men’s T20I ranking ranks 7th and the female T20I ranking 8.

To grab gold, the teams on the lower ranks will focus on climbing the ranking to secure their points.

The Cricket Inclusion Campaign in the Olympics began in August 2021 when the International Cricket Council (ICC) officially submitted an offer to be included. After meeting with the LA28 Organization Committee, the proposal was approved in October 2023 and officially participated in four sports for Kiket 2028 games.

In addition to criches, the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics will include Squash, Flag football, Lakros and baseball/volleyball. These additions increase the number of total medal activities to 351 with an increase of 22 in Paris 2024. However, the core athlete cover remained at 10,500 and 698 new athletes are preparing to compete in these five new sports.

While expecting Cricket for the return of the Olympic, all the eyes will be the right of the nations and how the competition emerged in the major stage of the 2028 Olympics.
