RCB became the IPL team with the most defeat at home

RCB has lost 45 matches against DC – by a team in the history of IPL

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have created history in the IPL. Not a good one, but an unwanted feat. With the defeat against DC on Thursday, the franchise lost their 45th IPL game at home – the most by any team in the tournament’s history.

RCB top list of most defeats at home

RCB have now lost two back-to-back games at their home ground – M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. They first lost to GT by 8 wickets on April 2, which marked their first home game. Next, they slumped to a 6-wicket defeat at the hands of DC on April 10. Only DC are one loss behind them on the list of the number of defeats tasted by a team at their home venue.

KKR have lost 38 games at the Eden Gardens while MI have lost 34 at the Wankhede. PBKS, who are now playing their home matches in Mullanpur, have suffered 30 losses in their previous home ground Mohali.

What happened in DC vs RCB?

 KL Rahul led Delhi Capitals to an epic chase of 164. With rain around, Rahul smacked an unbeaten 53-ball 93 to chase down the target 13 balls to spare. RCB set just a 164-run target for Delhi Capitals. Despite a bright start with Phil Salt smashing 17-ball 37, RCB lost their way, but Tim David with 20-ball 37 helped them post 163/7. Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel had won the toss and opted to bowl first.
