Shreyas Iyer returns with quick fifty after 2 low score at home

Shreyas Iyer threw three half a century in IPL 2025.
Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer hit his 3rd fifty of IPL 2025 after twin and rare failures in his current streak of red-hot form.
Shreyas Iyer started his stint as PBKS captain with a glorious unbeaten 97 against Gujarat Titans and then followed that up with 52 not out against Lucknow Super Giants.
Those successes came in away games for PBKS, but Iyer endured two low scores in Mullanpur, PBKS’s home ground.
On Saturday, Iyer was back in touch with what now seems to be the normal course of business for the elegant India middle-order batter. After a fierce start from Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, Iyer took the onus on himself to keep his side on track for another high total.
Shreyas Iyer has played the IPL for a decade now and his best season with the bat happened to be in 2020 when he led his former franchise Delhi Capitals to the final. Back then, he had scored 519 runs from 17 matches. This time, he is once again in great form and could even be in the hunt for the Orange Cap if he keeps up his consistency.
