5. Academic Plantation Area

Immediately after the Trump elections, I entered the Academy in 2017, to disrupt the violence that may come. I was the first mother of a six -month black girl. I thought that the academy would be the safest place of the academy, focusing on academic freedom and speech. What I learned about the Academy shocked me, but it entered the perspective I witnessed in the field of social work. Academy is the belly of the monster. The basis and construction of whiteness, patriarchy and colonialism are conceptualized and maintained through academic research, pedagogy and practices. Black feminist academicians such as Crenshaw (1991), Collins (2000), Hooks (1994) and Cooper (2014, 2018) talk about the past nature of these printing systems in the academy in their scholarships. When I spent at the academy, he became eye -catching and liberating. The last seven years, as a black woman as a scholar, tried to understand if there was a place for me, I spent wandering through the academy monster. While in the academy, I realized that my existence was a broken policy that was shaped by the systems and structures that improve, teach and implement the dominant epistemologies of US academic institutions. My humanity does not maintain whiteness and is considered a threat to the institution.

For seven years in academic education, I personally have been the subject of many complaints from students about my pedagogy, clothes and general attitude. I have spent mediation, which made it compulsory to solve student conflicts by the university for almost every period. As an assistant faculty member, I was unauthorized and used by university lawyers and managers without my voice. I am not perfect; I assume that there are areas I challenged, but it didn’t help me grow up as an academy professor. Academia served as a place where I felt put on a psychological and emotional wiper pole without a meaningful, concrete result. For example, when I questioned the complaints against me and called what I call the “Dean Court ,, they almost always became about the insecurity of emotions, emotions, or directness and sincerity. An academic year, I had to rent a lawyer to support me in the academic corporate forest, and I was called for more than one hearing without a real material solution. White supremacist values continue to crush, submit, surveillance, exploit, police and justifying violence against black women (Collins 2000; Rodgers 2021; Spencer and Perlow 2018). Rodgers (2021) confirms how the harm of black women in the academy emerged as open and subtle discrimination experiences, including silence and positionality of black women. Corporate power has tried to silence me many times. In most of the mediation I attended, when I asked about the purpose of the meeting, the answer was almost always a solution. When I asked for examples of possible decisions, the aim was to provide space for the student who was almost always white for upset, distrust and harm with my pedagogy. I’m a professor, not a clinician. My job is not to correct emotions to educate. Somehow, in the Social Service School, where most of the teaching, we have created a space where future social service practitioners and clinicians will keep their feelings in real and armed to keep black women hostage. We are not your mother; Get someone else to do this!

Today, in 2024, I am deeply worried about the social service and academy field in general. We have reached what I hope to be the summit of extreme violence and pure savagery. I see that my aunts and my mentors will be witnessing first -hand. In 2024, I witnessed the murder of thousands of children around the world, and even accepting it in this article may be breaking an institutional policy in one of many institutions I have affiliated with. In 2024, we have witnessed anything just before our eyes, there is this quiet but very noisy beak in the academy to avoid saying anything. Academic freedom was eliminated. In order to reject the violence that protects imperialism, institutional policies have been armed. Nevertheless, if we agree to excessive violence and trauma, we can risk our career and livelihoods. Now we have entered what I call “whiteness of whiteness .. This expression is about the way whiteness is with the way of extreme violence and the fact that we are with all of us and demanding us to look at our business ”. Whiteness is currently working like a dysfunctional family that protects their abusive actions against children instead of protecting children of an adult. Whiteness is upset that black women will not agree to watch death without protesting. Opinions and emotions have been transformed into facts and used to target young people in university campuses, dox and harm. I called for the arrest of faculty students on campus due to protests because they had different opinions. Whiteness doesn’t know how to join with a difference. Whiteness is a cruel. I witnessed the victim of online stock exchanges that resulted in contact with my employer and I became a victim. If it is not the end of these times, I hope it is the beginning. If this is the beginning of something new (I hope), when academic institutions are responsible for producing and helping legitimate feelings and opinions as real, what does it appear? There is no answer to whiteness, because whiteness is very busy with denying it exists.

Gem # 5. Align yourself with more than one institution, so that the person decides to excess damage, leaving is an option. Use your degree as a shield. It is okay to have many (small) jobs. We usually have five to six jobs in an institution. An institution should not have a 100% control over your life. They can benefit you. However, the institution should not depend on removing the functioning of humanity.
