Team Updates

Against India, Pakistan is the same day as IPL 2025, which will restart PSL 2025 as PCB again

IPL and PSL were stopped on the same day and will continue on the same date.

Sport has often been used by countries to show their superiority. The Olympics is a fine example of that. And the same seems to be happening with cricket as well. Tensions between India and Pakistan may have eased, but through cricket, both nations are still looking to one-up each other.

PSL 2025 restart date

It was just yesterday that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will resume on May 17. On the very next day, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 will resume on the same date as well.

“HBL PSL X picks up from where it left off. 6 teams, 0 fear. Get ready for 8 thrilling matches starting 17th May, leading up to the Grand Final on 25th May. Best of luck to all the teams!” PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Schedule, venues & foreign players availability

However, unlike the BCCI, the PCB hasn’t yet revealed the full schedule. The venues aren’t confirmed nor the dates. So far, no one even knows whether the remainder of the PSL 2025 will be played in Pakistan or somewhere else. It was previously suggested that the UAE would host the remaining 8 matches, but the deal didn’t work out.

Foreign players are unlikely to return as well. Barring Bangladeshi cricketers, no other overseas players are expected to return. But even that isn’t guaranteed. For the unaware, England’s Tom Curran broke down crying after being unable to leave, while New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell told Bangladesh’s Rishad Hossain that he would never return to Pakistan.

Remaining PSL 2025 matches

  • Karachi Kings vs Peshawar Zalmi
  • Peshawar Zalmi vs Lahore Qalandars
  • Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings
  • Multan Sultans vs Quetta Gladiators
  • Qualifier
  • Eliminator 1
  • Eliminator 2
  • Final – May 25
