Two times the Women’s World Cup champion Alex Morgan buys shares at San Diego Wave FC in the National Women’s Football League.

For a long time, the US national team captain has been declared as the newest minority investor on Tuesday.

“San Diego is the place where I raised my children and I built my house where I found a goal beyond my game career.” He said.

“Before a single match was played, I believed the Wave FC and I still believe that this club has the power to change the future of women’s sports. Not only as a player, but now as an investor, I am proud to invest in that future.”

35 -year -old Morgan retired from NWSL last September. The striker was one of the original signatures of the club in December 2021 and scored 16 goals to capture the league’s golden boat in 2022.

Morgan, a World Cup champion in 2015 and 2019 and the Olympic Gold Medal in 2012, retired from the international game as USWNT’s fifth highest scorer with 123 goals in 224 games.

Morgan also invested in 3 professional women’s basketball leagues.

With Wave twice, the US football female player of the year is joining Leichtman-Levine, the control holder of the club.

“Alex has always fought to positively influence this game beyond the field,” Lauren Leichtman, who controls the owner of the wave, said. He said. “He used his platform to build something meaningful in San Diego to build, defend and build something meaningful.

“The investment decision is not only the continuation of its leadership, but also a reflection of its belief in what we build.”
