Did CSK Ignore Priyansh Arya in IPL 2025 Auction?

Earlier, it was revealed that the CSK scouts had recommended the names of Aniket Verma, and Vipraj Nigam, to be added in the squad, and now, PBKS wonderkid Priyansh Arya’s name has come forward. As per a report in the Indian Express, the scouting team had recommended this youngster’s name, which was of course ignored at the IPL 2025 auction table.

It is important to note that Priyansh has been excellent for PBKS, where he has scored 346 runs for the team, in 10 matches, and including a ton. In fact, his was the third-fastest ton in the history of IPL, only surpassed by the likes of Chris Gayle and Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

Vipraj Nigam & Aniket Verma Were Ignored too

Speaking on R Ashwin’s Youtube Channel. S Vidyut, a former CSK player and scout, explained how no players were picked from the recommended list.

In a video on CSK spinner Ashwin’s YouTube channel, Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan – a player turned scout for the team – explains that he had witnessed multiple domestic leagues before coming up with a list of uncapped players that the team could have targeted in the IPL 2025 mega auction. “My job is trying to get uncapped players. I have no say in picking capped players. I went and saw two-three tournaments – UP league, Punjab league.

“I had suggested names such as Priyansh Arya, Swastik Chikara, Vipraj Nigam, Aniket Verma. I put these players on a list and gave it to the CSK management. With that my job is done. It is upto them if they take the player in the auction or not,” the CSK scout said.
