Are the inconsistencies behind Shreyas Iyer’s collapse of Punjab Kings?

Although the captain Shreyas was stainless, he could not find a way to take a run on two -paced tracks.
10, 9, 82, 0, 7, & 6 – these have been Shreyas Iyer’s inconsistent form in the last six IPL 2025 matches. Only one great innings in six games aren’t your money’s worth when the amount is Rs 26.75 crore. Surely, Iyer’s captaincy has been on point and the Punjab Kings (PBKS) are having a dream season. However, Iyer has surprisingly found a slump in his batting.
Poor time for Iyer to get out of form
With Punjab winning five of their first seven games, they are just a handful more wins away from confirming their berth for playoffs. It would be huge for a franchise that hasn’t qualified since a decade now. But their captain’s poor performances are coming at unwanted time.
Iyer started his IPL 2025 campaign with two flawless innings, one of which was perhaps his best T20 innings. He made 97* in the tournament-opener before clubbing another unbeaten fifty. But since then, things haven’t been great, scoring just 114 runs at an average of 19.00. If he leave out his 82-run knock against SRH, things crop to just 32 runs in five games.
