Marta Kostyuk from Ukraine forced Aryna Sabalenga to a Tiebreaker in both sets of the Mutua Madrid Open Quartic final on Wednesday, but Belarus’s best seed Sabalenga 7-6 (4), 7-6 (7) came to prevail.

Sabalenka asked for two hours, 32 minutes to suppress the 24th seed Kostyuk for earning only four points (110-106) on the clay. While waiting for the roof to close, during the second set Tiebreaker, they had to deal with a 5-4 5-4-intense rain delay. Sabalenka recorded a setting point after continuing the game and finding a way to reign.

“I think the end of both sets was quite difficult, Sab Sabalenka said. “I think I was dealing with myself because of the whole match, conditions. It wasn’t about tennis, it was just about the way you can focus on yourself and yourself. This is what I mean by taking myself.

“Because I think everyone can win under these conditions, so it’s nothing about tennis.”

Sabalenka will meet Elina Svitolina with 17th seed in the semi-finals, as she needs only 52 minutes to overthrow 6-2, 6-1 in Japan’s Moyuka Uchijima in the Ukrainian native WTA 1000 event.

In the other semi -finals, there will be a reckoning between Poland’s Seed 2 IGA Swiatek and Coco Gauff number 4. Swiatek, 0-6, 6-3, 6-2 before the gathering for the victory of the fifth-seed Madison Keys against the first set of the first set-four-break score lost three of the break points.

“To be honest, it was one of the most bizarre matches I’ve ever played,” Swiatek said to the crowd after the match. “I didn’t feel [the first set] It was so bad. I felt good – it took too long. I tried to play a little shorter and finally changed with some of Maddy’s mistakes. “

Gauff did not have an easy time with Red Mirra Andreeva number 7 from Russia. The 21-year-old American, who followed 5-4 in the first set, fought with two sets of points and walked to demand 7-5, 6-1 victory on the 18-year-old Russian. The 39 years old, since the 2009 Indian Wells tournament, the youngest quarter -final match in the WTA 1000 quarter finals.

If Sabalenka and Swiatek are interested in things, they will meet the Madrid open title for the third year in a row. WTA would be the first time since I introduced Level I Tournaments in 1990.
