The first five candidates for Tennessee commit Nate Ament committing

One of the best players in the 2026 class, the five -star forward Nate Ament is connected to Tennessee on Sunday.

Ament was ranked as a general player number 4 in the class by the 247Sports composite ranking. Virginia native Duke, Kentucky, Louisville and Arkansas chose volunteers.

Ament made its announcement in a video published on social media and told ESPN that it was an important factor in the decision of Volunteers Coach Rick Barnes.

“He sees me as a single type player, Ament said Ament. “He did this before Kevin Durant (in Texas). He sees me as a man for this kind of program. I have established a great relationship with the coaching staff. I trust them very much and there are great goals for me.

“It was the most important part to have the confidence to believe that I was one of the best players in the country.” He said. He continued: “It was not about height or power, it was about putting the training given to me to use.”

Tennessee proceeded to Elite Eight, where he won a seed number 2 in the NCAA tournament and fell to the highest level Houston.
