Punjab Kings (PBKS) signed the Australian Mitchell Owen as the Star versatile Glenn Maxwell's injury reserves for the rest of IPL 2025 due to a broken fracture at the beginning of this week. Owen, who is currently playing for Peshaver Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League, will join PBKS for RS 3 Crore. Owen became the leading scorer of Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 and smashed 452 at a strike rate of more than 200 to help Hobart Hurricanes remove his first titles.

Owen joined Peshwar Zalmi as an additional player after deciding to violate South Africa's Corbin Bosch's PSL agreement to Mumbai Indians in IPL. According to Espncricinfo, Owen is expected to join PBKs after completing PSL commitments.
Owen has made 200 running for PSL games for Peshaver. He also took two small doors. Owen, a mid -row of upper -row slopes and the right arm, was battered by Peshawar Zalmi to make it easier to facilitate the captain captain Babar Azam on the command.
