BCCI will announce India’s ‘A’ staff on May 11, the election is still a mystery

India ‘A’ will remain in the UK for about 3-4 weeks by playing three application matches.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will, in all likelihood, announce the India ‘A’ squad for the England tour on May 11, according to RevSportz. The India A side will face the England Lions in two 4-day practice matches and then will play an intra-squad game against the main India team.
India A squad still a mystery
We already know that India A will leave for England on May 25, which is just four days before the practice matches begin on May 30. However, the squad remains a mystery. The BCCI was torn about selection. Some players who are part of India’s Test team had expressed the idea of playing one practice match before the intra-squad game.
Then, some players like Mohammed Shami, Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill were also out of form. BCCI was therefore puzzled about whom to send. Should they pick domestic performers like Shreyas Iyer or Karun Nair, those who have been on the verge like Sai Sudharsan of making their debuts or players who are very much part of the Test team?
Main squad selection delayed
Since Rohit Sharma has retired before the India vs England Test series and Virat Kohli might follow him as well, BCCI’s job hasn’t gotten easy. They have delayed the announcement of the main squad by a couple of days. Now, BCCI has to appoint a new captain and perhaps even a new vice-captain.
