The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2025’s major finals are now in Kalcutta, the focus is going on the future of BGMI espor in India. In a special interview held during the BGIS Grand Finals, Karan Pathak, Espor Auxiliary Director in Krafton Indiashared information Vivek Singh, Invidesport, the Alt Editor, The prize pool enlargement, the BGMI rising stars program and the potential new tournament structures for the region in the future plans.
Q. The first prize pool of the BGIS 2026 became 2 Crore and added community participation 1.2 Crore, so do you see that the reward pool enlargement model has become a standard future esport activities?
There will be changes in this. Of course, we want to make it bigger and better. For 2026, we are discussing how to make changes to our product team and how to benefit fans. With the BGIS 2025 fund, the La 1.2 Crore support of the prize pool from players makes us try to be increasingly creative. However, there are also limitations with development. Therefore, we will decide on the 2026 plans based on the development plans of the product team and developers.

S. Can you give more information about the BGM rising stars problem? What are the basic qualities you look at the talent when choosing them?
First, the most important goal for them was to sign up for Krafton India Esports website. There is a registration section for the rising stars on the website and after registration there, he joined more than 3000 people. It took about three weeks to go through the applications where the details were collected in such a way that we could not easily map the total subscribers.
We didn’t ask them about the channel dimensions, so we actually had to go to every channel and see when they were released last. The best part was that we found a player who was very active in 2021 but then disappeared from the scene. Actually, I called him and I said, “Hey, you applied, but there’s nothing active. Would you like to make a movement?” I said. For him, my answer said, “Why don’t you start again? Maybe you can join the second edition.” Of course, a minimum criterion we maintained, because the first 3000 applicants narrowed up to 10, the minimum subscriber of any channel they had. And then, they had to be an active espor player.
Please do not see these individuals as content creators first; First they are espor players and then create content as delivery. They want to enlarge their channels, and when you are often a Esports player, you should publish people to enjoy watching you and the game.
S. Krafton are there any new formats such as franchisees that India thinks of the future of regimes, or anything, tournament structure or initiatives?
Since the tournament format is always or the structure of the tournament is always new, we are trying to introduce something new even with this BGIS 2025. The BGMI Pro Series Aka BMPS 2025 will have a new tournament format/structure. BGMI Esports about the Franchisee League. You will have to wait for the official announcement in the future.
