Boston Legacy FC, the opening season in 2026 Foxborough, Mass.
The team is waiting to play at the White Stadium in Boston in 2027.
Boston Legacy said in a statement, “(Gillette Stadium) is a first class facility that meets NWSL requirements for field specifications, capacity and broadcasting capabilities and will provide an exciting gaming experience for our fans in 2026,” He said. “The construction continues and we are looking forward to inviting our fans to the White Stadium in 2027.”
Gillette Stadium for 65,000 people is just 20 miles away from the White Stadium. The facility hosts the New England Patriots in the NFL season and the MLS’s New England Revolution for the eight months of the year. In addition, the stadium will serve as a summer server for the 2026 World Cup.
The white stadium in the Franklin Park area was expected to be ready until March, but some legal problems delayed the project. One includes a local protection group filing case to stop the project. The cost of the project increased over $ 200 million.
Kraft Sports and Entertainment, which controls Gillette Stadium, said it was happy to provide a temporary house.
