American Brandt Snedeker and Geoff Ogilv from Australia were elected captains on Tuesday for the 2026 Presidential Cup at the Medina Country Club outside Chicago.
In 2013, 44 -year -old Snedeker competed in the biennial competition by attracting US golfers against a non -European international staff and also served as a captain assistant in 2024.
“I am looking forward to taking our men to Medina for a great honor and absolutely an incredible golf week to be called a team captain for the 2026 Presidential Cup by my peers for the 2026 Presidential Cup.” He said. “Representing my country in the team contest has been a most important feature of my PGA Tour, and I will lean on these experiences to ensure that we are prepared and ready to compete against things that I know will be a united and determined international team.”
The 16th Presidential Cup will be held between 22-27 September 2026 in the 3rd lesson of Medinah. The Americans are 13-1-1, including 18 1/2 to 11 1/12 win at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada in 2024.
47 -year -old Ogilvy competed for the international team in 2007, 2009 and 2011 and became an assistant captain in each of the last four events. In 2022 and 2023, the design company inspected Medina’s renovations number 3.
