Caps F Aliaksei Protas Playoff Opener and Habs

Washington Advanced Aliaksei Protas is not likely to play on Monday night, when the capitals opened the Eastern Conference against Montreal Canadiens, who visited the first round series.

The 24-year-old Protas continued a skate on the top of his left foot in his 5-3 house win against Chicago Blackhawks on April 4 and missed the last six matches of the normal season. It was limited to a 15 -minute skate before the team’s morning skate on Monday.

Coach Spencer Carbery said Protas expects to play at one point in the seven best series.

“I think, I would definitely wait for him to play, and we’ll see when we’ve been.” He said. “It could be tonight. The game can be 2 (on Wednesday). We will see.”

Protas, 30 goals, 36 assists, 66 points, 18 penalty minutes, 16:27 average ice time and the third place in the league with 40 points in the league.

Washington chose Protas in the third round of the 2019 NHL draft. Since the 2021-22 season, there are 119 career points (43 goals, 76 assists) and plus-33 points in 245 games.

At the Başkentler Eastern Conference (51-22-9, 111 points), he had the best record, while Canadiens (40-31-11, 91 points) won the second joker dock.
