Bravo blames KKR’s fruits for the loss of GT

KKR coach Dwayne Bravo hit the team’s dough for Flop shows against GT
Kolkata Knight Riders bowling coach Dwayne Bravo came down heavily on the side’s batters following their loss to GT. Rahane and co. were handed a 39-run thrashing by the visitors on Monday, marking their fifth defeat in IPL 2025. Bravo pointed out that it wasn’t just Andre Russell who was struggling with the bat, claiming that it was unfair to blame him solely.

Bravo slams KKR’s batters
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Bravo claimed that KKR batters had lost confidence. He claimed that the players had entered that phase after not starting the tournament on a good note.
“Russell is not the only one who is struggling at the moment. IPL is a tough tournament. And when you don’t start well, batsmen go into a period where they lose confidence. And that’s what’s happening at the moment. We just have to keep backing them and hopefully they come good,” Bravo said.
KKR’s top-order once again failed to fire in the game against GT. Gurbaz and Narine managed to score just 1 and 17 runs respectively. Once again, captain Ajinkya Rahane came to the rescue with a fighting half-century, albeit in a losing cause. However, what was puzzling was the decision to send Angkrish Raghuvanshi to bat at number 9 when the rest of the KKR batters were clearly struggling.
“But, you know, when Russell walks into bat every time, the run rate is at 14-15. So the work needs to be done on top so that we give him a chance to finish off games like he accustomed to doing over the years for KKR,” Bravo added.
What happened in yesterday’s IPL match?
Shubman Gill (90 off 55), Sai Sudharsan (52 off 36) and Jos Buttler (41 off 23) helped GT post 198/3. KKR faltered during the chase throughout as they could only manage 159/8. Prasidh Krishna (2/25) and Rashid Khan (2/25) choked KKR in the run chase to win the match comfortably.
