According to a report of Motorsport.com, Carlos Sainz Sr., FIA World Champion, may be throwing his hat into the ring to become the presidency of the Motorsport management organ.
The current president Mohammed Ben Sulayem has worked since 2021, but four years were fed with discussions. He did not officially re -announce for the election, but he is known to organize a campaign.
The election will take place on December 12 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Both Sainz Sr and I am 63 years old and old competitors. Sainz SR, who won the four Dakar rally event, competed in the event in January. The old Sainz is the father of Williams F1 driver Carlos Sainz.
As reported by the BBC, Sainz Sr said, “This possibility has been in my mind for a while, but now I think it might be the right time to step in my career.” He said. “I’m sure I can do a good job and create a perfect team to go back to the sports part of what he gave me.
“I have accumulated a lot of experience in this sport for years and I’m sure I can bring new and interesting things to strengthen and improve the sport and automobile world.”
Currently, Sainz Sr, I did not have an official declaration by me or others, but others are expected to run.
Under the leadership of Ben Sulayem, FIA experienced controversial situations. Sports Vice President Robert Reid resigned in April and claimed “a basic collapse in governance standards”. This caused former FIA CEO Natalie Robyn to break the silence and participate in Reid’s emotions.
