The Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) decided to suspend IPL 2025 on Friday, one week after the border tensions of India-Pakistan. After a match between the Kings of Punjab in Delhi Capitals and Dharamshala on Thursday, the decision had to be abandoned because several areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab were attacked. Air attacks and drones from Pakistan were trying to infiltrate North India’s airspace. According to IPL sources, there was pressure for both the franchise and foreign cricketists to suspend the competition for now. However, a meeting will be held within a week to discuss the future of IPL 2025.
“Cricket and BCCI will not submit to Pakistan, Siyar Source said.
BCCI added that the decision was taken by the IPL Management Council after consulting all important stakeholders and that BCCI was strictly standing with the government.
“While the BCCI stopped the full belief in the power and preparations of our armed forces, the Board thought that it was cautious to act in the collective interests of all stakeholders. At this critical intersection, BCCI stands closely with the nation. We express our solidarity with the Indian government, the armed forces and the people of our country.”
“The Board greets the heroic efforts under the Sindoor operation, the last terrorist attack and the unjust aggression of the armed forces of Pakistan’s armed forces greet the courage, courage and self -sacrifice of our armed forces who continue to protect and inspire the nation.”
“While the Cricket remains a national passion, there is nothing greater than the country and its sovereignty, integrity and security of our country.
