Cricket will return to the Olympic games for the first time in 128 years. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) officially confirmed that the Cricket was encouraged as one of the sports to be held at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Six teams will participate in each of the male and female cricket activities. A total of 90 players will participate in each event. The game will be held in T20 format.
Cricket, zucchini, flag football, baseball/volleyball and lacros were included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The T20 Cricket will be played by more than 100 countries worldwide, which will make it difficult for teams to be under the last six suitable for participating in the tournament. As a host, the US may enter the Olympics directly.
It was also announced that LA Olympics will have a total of 351 medal activities with 22 more than the Paris Olympics. Recently, a female cricket was included in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. India received a gold medal in these games. With the male and female jack in the Olympics, fans are now hoping that India will earn at least two medals.
