Justin Thomas Harbor Town dances with the record, leading early after 11 birds

Justin Thomas kidnapped a new Harbor Town Golf Links record as inch, but on Thursday, Hilton Head Island was the Early Leading at the RBC Heritage at SC.
Thomas rolled in 11 birds and tied the single -round course record with 10 below 61, and after a significant distance, a series of shots, after a record -breaking 60, a 6 -meter putt missed the right. Thomas was equal to 18.
He took a stunning distance with a bird Putt, a bird of 38 feet, which is still good for the lowest opening round in Heritage History of RBC. David Frost (Second round, 1994) and Troy Merritt (Second round, 2015) shares a record for 18 holes in the 57 -year -old history of the tournament.
“I just played really solid, Thom Thomas said. “I feel that I didn’t do anything crazy. I just put the ball well here, very important, and I felt just one of those days, I put the ball in a place where I had very good numbers.”
Thomas made three shots from Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley, who ranked second (64) under the age of 7 (64) at a 20 million dollar PGA tour signature event.
Thomas lined up with the share of the leadership under 6 (30), consisting of six birds and three pars, but opened his back to number 10 before he settled back from seven holes to five.

The defense champion Scheffler made a shot, but a 21 -meter bird was rapidly withdrawn even below 6 with Putt. He had seven birds and played on Thursday. Henley, who won Arnold Palmer Invitational last month for the first round of win since 2022, kept up with birds at four of his last Fiver to close 64 rounds.
Thomas’s 62 or better 14th career tour in the PGA round in the last 40 years. Kevin Na (11) ranks with Tiger Woods and Zach Johnson among a group of nine rounds 62 or less. Thomas tied the course record at TPC Sawgrass with 62 in March and obtained 78 with 11 birds the day after hitting.
Matt Fitzpatrick, who won the 2023 RBC Heritage, shot 66 and was part of five five of the leadership. Britain’s Fitzpatrick entered 65 feet for Eagle in Par-5 seconds and besieged two par-5 (No. 5, 15) in a non-bogay round.
Thomas was connected in 2024 with a fifth -hole 14 points with 14 points and a single round, the best of 6 in the final round. The Scheffler event won the event below 19, three of them are far from Sahith Theegala.
