Each of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors has overturned a higher -seed rival in the first round of playoffs.
Now, teams will fight for a trip to the Western Conference finals.
The sixth seed Minnesota will oppose the seventh seed Golden State in the 1st game of the seven best semi -final series in Minneapolis on Tuesday night. The series will stay in Minnesota on Thursday before moving to San Francisco for games 3 and 4.
Timberwolves coach Chris Finch, both teams entered a series -like orbit, he said.
“Obviously a difficult match,” Finh said. “This is a championship genealogy team. They look like us. They played the best basketball in stretch and playoffs.
“Indeed, they come out of a really difficult series, of course. But they showed what they were doing in this series.”
Warriors won a win against Houston Rockets in a series that makes all of the seven games. The team had a day between 103-89 wins in Houston on Sunday and a day between Tuesday's series.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr praised his players for holding the first round of victory. Golden State returned to the semi -finals after losing a game tour a season ago.
The acquisition of Jimmy Butler had much to do with Warriors' reconstruction. Butler has already joined a series that highlighted Stephen Curry and Draymond Green and rejuvenated the team for the last three months.
Butler was 25-26 years old when he took off his team against Chicago Bulls on February 8th. Warriors won 24 of 32 matches to finalize the normal season before progressing on the game tour and downloading second -seed rockets.
“We are excited. We are excited,” Kerr said. “When I return to the last date we are as a team, I am proud of what they have succeeded in playing a meaningful basketball and giving ourselves a chance, as Steph said. This is the only thing you want every year: and we have a chance with this group.”
Anthony Edwards also gives Timberwolves a great chance. He leads the team with 26.8 points per game in playoffs and scored 31 assists with only six turnover during a series of five -game wins against the Third Seed Los Angeles Lakers.
Julius Randle also shone in the playoffs for Minnesota and scored 22.6 points per game. Jaden McDaniels, while shooting the best match in the defense gets an average of 17.4 points per game.
In the semifinals, this means that McDaniels will try to slow down Curry, which has received an average of 24 points in the first round of 47.1 percent of the field in the first round. Butler received an average of 18.3 points and Brandon podziemski was an average of 11.
Golden State won the normal season series 3-1. All of these games took place before adding the Warriors Butler to its arrangement.
Curry knows that there will be a difficult series against Edwards and Minnesota teammates who try to return to the conference finals for the second flat season.
“We know they've fled last year, Cur Curry said. “They have a new look from Randle, but the same 'ant' trying to step from every opportunity he takes. This will be a difficult challenge.
He continued: “We will have to send more than one body to Edwards and find a game plan to go to him. Currently, the heat. They have been playing a great basketball for the last few months. We are excited to have a little more basketball to play.”
