Dancing on the ice with ITV from the air

ITV, “there is no existing plan for another series” and “listened” as ITV explained.

The decision means that the show will not be on the air for its 20th anniversary next year.

The ice skating competition started in 2006, but it suffered from the number of viewers that have recently fallen.

An ITV spokesman said: “Earlier this year, after another successful series, dance on Ice 2026 will be heard without an existing plan for another series.

On Thursday at an Instagram postWilloughby thanked everyone who was “part of our dance in the Ice Family”.

The show sees celebrities paired with professional ice skaters to make routines in front of a judges panel.

The ratings were strong for several years, but this year’s monitoring figures fell.

The first episode of an average of 3.6 million viewers is compared with 2024, and in January, an average of 2.9 million viewers set in Live.

This year’s seriesCoronation Street player Sam Aston and skating partner Molly Lanaghan jointly by Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern.

Among the other celebrities who have gone to ICE since 2006, Olympic Gymnast Beth Twedle, Eastenders player Sam Attwater and presenter Joe Swash.

Among the judges were Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill, the Olympic champion, both from the very beginning.

Willoughby left in October 2023 this morning and led to speculation.

However, ITV later announced that it would continue to host the show and returned to the 2024 series with Mulhern.

Willoughby and Mulhern first worked together at the Middle Nougties at the Children’s Department Ministry. The show is later named Holly & Stephen’s Saturday Showdown.

In addition, after Schofield’s positive testing for Covid-19, they hosted the skating competition in 2022.
