DHONI’S CSK LAST SILENCE IN IPL Pension Plans

We are heading towards the end of yet another IPL season and the uncertainty over MS Dhoni’s future in the league is back in the spotlight. The 43-year-old is the oldest uncapped player who is currently active in IPL. Ahead of IPL 2026, CSK have ended the silence on whether their former & current stand-in skipper will be available for the next season.

Dhoni has no plans to retire from IPL?

As per Times of India, insiders from CSK strongly believe that IPL 2025 will not be the end of the road for Dhoni. The report states that the five-time champions believe that they have too many loose ends to deal with in terms of letting the CSK stalwart go.

“Dhoni has said that he take a decision a few months later, but the feeling is that there are too many loose ends to deal with in the team for MSD to go at this stage,” the report states.

Earlier this year, Dhoni revealed that he wanted to enjoy the few more years of cricket left in him. At that time too, he had said that he played cricket only for two months while he had to keep himself fit by playing other sports the rest of the year.

When will MS Dhoni retire?

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Dhoni pointed out that he was 43-years-old and that he played cricket only for two months a year. The CSK legend claimed that he would have to workout for the next 6-8 months in order to figure out if his body can take the pressure of playing for another season.

“That’s the love and affection I have got throughout, not to forget, I’m 43 and I have played for a long time. They don’t know when it will be my last year, it is a fact I play only 2 months a year. This IPL gets over, then I have to work for the next 6-8 months to see if my body is able to take this kind of pressure. Nothing to decide as of now, but the love and affection I get everywhere is excellent,” Dhoni said.
