La 2028 Olympics: Southern California city will host Pomona Kriket

The ICC will host the Cricket competition during the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics announced on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

The cricket event, each of which will be included in the male and female categories, will be a part of the Olympics in the fairgrounds in Pomona.

“We are glad to announce the announcement of the cricket venue in Los Angeles 2028, because an important step to prepare for the return of our sport to the Olympics,” ICC President Jay Shah said in a statement. “Although the cricket is a very popular sport, it will be a great opportunity to expand traditional boundaries when it is in the Olympics in the Olympics, which should appeal to new masses.” In 1900, Cricket, who made his only appearance in the Olympics at the Paris Games, was included in the Los Angeles Olympics program after the 141st session of IOC in October 2023.

Cricket participated in five new sports, including baseball/volleyball, flag football, Lakros (six) and Squash in LA28.

The T20 format, known as a tool for the growth of the game by ICC, has been involved in other multiple sports events in recent years. While the Asian games in 2010, 2014 and 2023 presented both male and female T20 competitions, Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games organized a women’s competition.
