PCB, New Pakistan Team Coach, Old IPL Recruitment Mike Hesson

Mike Hesson has participated in various roles with multiple IPL teams in the last few years and formerly became part of the broadcast team.

The PCB is now looking for a full-time coach for the Pakistan Cricket team, after the interim coach Aaqib Javed decided not to continue with the job. It is important to note that his tenure ended after the Champions Trophy 2025, where the hosts Pakistan failed to win even a single match.

Aaqib Javed Tenure Done, New Coach Needed for Pakistan

If reports are to be believed former RCB director Mike Hesson’s name is under consideration. The Kiwi has been associated with the New Zealand team in the past, and is currently coaching the Islamabad United franchise as well. That is not it. As per Geo News, the names of Simon Katich and Luke Ronchi are also being considered.

It seems that all three were contacted earlier as well, but declined due to prior commitments. “The talk are at a very initial stage and it seems Hesson could be lured in if the negotiations are successful, ” an official said. There have been numerable foreign coaches that were associated with the team in the past, and didn’t have great experiences.

There’s examples of Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, Jason Gillespie and even Gary Kirsten. It must be revealed that the Pakistani team has been ordinary in the last couple of years, where they find it difficult to win. After losing badly in CT 2025, they played a T20 series in New Zealand, and were thrashed badly.
