About two years after the last match, former Major Leaguer Darin Ruf filed a lawsuit against Thursday for an injury against Cincinnati Reds in Great American Ball Park.

Hamilton County (Ohio), according to the case filed in Common Pleas, Ruf wounded himself in a match in Cincinnati while playing for Milwaukee Brewers on June 2, 2023.

According to the case, the injury prevented him from continuing his career.

“I didn’t have to do this. I wish it hadn’t been, Ruf Ruf said in a statement. “Players should not have to worry about such hidden dangers in a big league.”

The case claims that there is no pillow or lid to provide protection, and that the reds are responsible for the negligence of the floor crew.

“This was an obvious and preventive risk,” Ruf’s lawyer Tad Thomas said. He said. “Each MLB team has basic security protocols to follow. Leaving an unautored metal cylinder on the edge of the field cannot be forgiven.”

Ruf 38 -year -old Ruf started his nine -year career with Philadelphia Phillies and played five seasons before moving to San Francisco Giants and New York Mets. He played in 11 games before the knee injury and joined Brewers in May 2023.
