Extra Security in IPL, Rohit Sharma’s request for Gambhir & Bccı’s Test Selection was questioned

Security increased for PBKS vs RCB and GT vs MI

Safety measures are being taken for IPL 2025 Qualifier 1 and Eliminator in Mullanpur. In the aftermath of the tensions between India and Pakistan, security has been tightened for the two matches in New Chandigarh. One mustn’t forget that Mullanpur Stadium is just 250 kilometres away from the Pakistan border.

T Dilip back due to Rohit Sharma?

On May 27, BCCI brought T Dilip back as India’s fielding coach. Just two months back, Dilip’s contract had ended, and the board didn’t renew it. Without a coach since then, the BCCI brought him back for the England tour. It turns out that ODI captain Rohit Sharma had requested head coach Gautam Gambhir to bring Dilip back and he obliged.

Bumrah should’ve been India Test captain

Former England spinner Monty Panesar thinks that the BCCI should have gone with Jasprit Bumrah as India’s Test captain. He thinks that Shubman Gill hasn’t yet proved himself as a batter in red-ball cricket and picking him over India’s best player in Bumrah doesn’t seem like the right choice.

Selection due to IPL for Sudharsan?

Mohammad Kaif feels that Shreyas Iyer has been hard done by the BCCI. He thinks that Sai Sudharsan was picked for the India vs England Test series based on his white-ball prowess in the IPL. But the same wasn’t applied to Shreyas, who was one of India’s best batters in the last ODI World Cup and Champions Trophy.

Ashwin questions Pant as LSG captain

Ravichandran Ashwin doesn’t think that Rishabh Pant did the right thing by withdrawing Digvesh Rathi’s Mankad appeal against Jitesh Sharma. He thinks as LSG’s captain, Pant should have backed Rathi. RCB fans and spirit-of-the-game believers would have gone against Rathi due to his actions and Ashwin thinks Pant should have had his bowler’s back.

No England cricket team in LA Olympics

There will be no England or Scotland cricket team at the LA 2028 Olympics. The two cricket bodies have decided to form a GB (Great Britain) team instead and compete as one. They have invited Northern Ireland to join them as well.
