The expectation of the quarter -game cruise Trae Taylor is still months away from being suitable for putting pens on paper, but on Thursday, he announced his verbal commitment to Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Taylor, one of the best passes in the recruitment class of 2027, cannot officially sign with Nebraska until the early signature period in December 2026. However, this did not stop the 6 -meter 3, 185 -pound QB's commitment to Cornhuskers.

Taylor began as a second year student at Carmel Catholic High School in Illinois last autumn and scored 3,061 yard and 20 touches against seven interventions. According to the 247Sports composite ranking for the 2027 class, the four -star probability is a player number 3 in the country and the number 2 in Illinois.

In an interview with ESPN, Taylor said that he had been hired since the sixth grade and received a scholarship proposal from Maryland the following year. Taylor also said that Illinois will not visit the campuses outside of Nebraska, where he chose to choose LSU and Texas A & M.

“I can't really wait when I see how Dylan (Raiola) coaches me and how he can prepare me for the next level by entering Taylor Espn,” (Nebraska coach Glenn) Thomas. ” He said. “For me, it's hard to do business too early because I have to wait for a long time to get there.”
