Avesh Khan suffered fear of injury in the last ball in the 20th place in the game against RR

Lucknow Super Giants had their hearts in the mouth for a moment as Avesh Khan suffered an injury scare in the final ball of the game against RR. The pacer’s last-over heroics powered LSG to a narrow 2-run win against RR on Saturday. Khan was hit on his hand in the last delivery and was seen writhing in pain as his teammates mobbed him to celebrate the win.

The incident occurred off the final delivery of the 20th over when RR’s Shubham Dubey sent the ball straight back to Avesh. The ball seemingly hit his boot before ricocheting towards extra cover. Speaking at the post-match presentation, the LSG pacer revealed that he had initially thought that he had broken his hand as it had it his bone. He clarified that he was fine, however.

My hand is fine, thought I broke it, hit my bone, I couldn’t celebrate,” Avesh said.

“Don’t want to be Starc”

Avesh Khan quite literally pulled off a Starc in the final over against RR, successfuly steering LSG to victory. 9 runs were needed off the last over whuch was bowled by the pacer. However, he conceded only seven runs and picked up the prized wicket of Hetmyer to turn the game against RR.

Speaking about his last-over heroics that was filled with yorkers, Avesh said that he did not intend to become another Starc. He said that, instead, he was focused on becoming a better Avesh Khan.

I don’t want to become Mitchell Starc, I just want to become a good Avesh Khan. Yorker is my strength and I try to execute it. If I bowl with clarity, I execute it well,” he added.

Avesh was named the Player of the Match for his incredible spell. He finished with figures of 3/37.
