India no.1 in ODIs, T20Is
India maintained an impeccable record in the T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy, winning all the games that they played. Rohit Sharma and co. bounced back strongly after losing the ODI World Cup final in 2023 to Australia in a heartbreaking fashion despite winning all the games except the final.
India are followed by CT 2025 runners-up New Zealand in the 2nd spot on the ODI rankings followed by Australia at 3rd. In T20Is. Australia are at 2nd, followed by England, New Zealand and West Indies.
India will not be in action in white-ball cricket until August. They will next take on Bangladesh in an 3-match ODI and T20I series that will commence in August 2025.
Rohit Sharma & co’s downfall in Tests
India slipped down one position from 3rd to 4th on the Test rankings. This is a result of their back-to-back series losses to New Zealand and Australia. Rohit Sharma and co. first faced a whitewash against the Kiwis at home. Then, they went on to lose to Border-Gavaskar series 1-3. with India managing to win just 1 out of 5 matches.
India will next take on England in a 5-match Test series from June 20 in their renewed effort to climb back to the top of the rankings in Tests.
