Corbin Bosch was punished for choosing IPL via PSL as he faced the wrath of the South African star PCB: ‘I regret my decision deeply …’

The South African versatile Corbin Bosch was slapped by a one -year prohibition from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after withdrawing from the tournament to join Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Pakistani Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that he was suspended on Thursday and accused Bosch of violating his contract obligations with Psl Franchise Peshaver Zalmi.

Bosch was selected by Zalmi in the 2025 PSL season draft in January, but instead chose to sign with Mumbai Indians and replaced South Africa Lizaad Williams, excluded from injury. While IPL and PSL dates clashed this year, the movement triggered the quick disciplinary action from the PCB.

In a statement, the PCB said: “It will serve a versatile year ban and will not be suitable for the election in the Pakistan Super League next year.”

The Board had previously served Bosch with a legal declaration and argued that withdrawal after it was prepared was a violation of the player agreement.

Bosch, which is located in the leagues around the world, issued a public apology following the ban and regretted the decision.

Bosch, “I regret my decision very much… And I apologize to the people of Pakistan, the Peshawar Zalmi fans and the wider Grad community,” he said.

“I understand exactly the disappointment caused by my actions … But I’m determined to learn from this experience and I hope to return to PSL with the renewed devotion and the confidence of fans.”

PSL starts on Friday

The ban comes before the beginning of the PSL season on Friday. Although IPL runs parallel to Pakistan’s flagship T20 tournament, PSL, Australia’s David Warner, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell, Tim Seifert and West Indies’ Jason Holder and South Africa’s Rasie van der Dussen.

As of now, Bosch will have to sit in the 2026 editions of the PSL, but it continues to be part of the South African Mumbai Indians.
