IPL 2025: RCB head coach Andy Flower’s great update in Rajat Patidar, Phil Salt’s fitness

Head Coach Andy Flower said that the expanded break did not disturb the rhythm of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and that some players, including the captain Rajat Patidar, help back to the top of the playoffs. Patidar had a finger injury in a home match against Chennai Super Kings before disintegration for a week due to IPL’s Indo-Pak military conflict. “We are very worried about this (Mola). I think the children have worked really well throughout the season and played a perfect cricket throughout the season. Yes, now a little break, but for a few players with a healthy thing,” he said.

Patidar was wearing a fire to protect his wounded finger, but on May 17, due to the rain in Bengaluru, RCB has been abandoned from the match against Knight Riders.

“Rajat Patidar gave some time to settle after a very bad shot. So, this is great,” Flower said.

“(Opener Phil) Salt was sick for a while, so (the break) gave him the chance to go home. He charged his batteries and is in full power.

“Of course, everyone in the competition and all our fans would ask the competition to play as planned, but it was in the hands of bigger things and we had to roll with it.”

Royal Challengers will now play all their matches, including Knockouts, and Flower said the team is well prepared for the challenge while leaning on the perfect distant record.

The RCB was initially scheduled to play SRH at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, but the match shifted to Lucknow for the hard air estimate in Bengaluru.

“We were disappointed to not play the game of tomorrow in Bengaluru. As you know, we started in our home conditions and took some time to adjust our game plan to the field and set it up and won a few important games at home.

“We have a good record. We were really well stretched for distant conditions, so I support our players to do it again tomorrow. So we’re good to play here in Lucknow.”

Royal Challengers has all the records in six games that are played away from home in the IPL of this season.
