IPL VS PSL VS BBL? Arun Dhumal annoyes the return of the Champions League T20

The Champions League has been invalid since T20 2014. CSK defeated the KKR to remove the 6th and last trophy of the tournament.

The Champions League T20, known as CLT20, can return potentially. The tournament was founded in 2007 after the opening pressure of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was a great success. In India, the Cricket Control Board (BCCI), England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Cricket Australia (CA) and Cricket South Africa (CSA), met to create a multinational franchise activity trying to imitate the Champions League of Football.

CLT20’s format and how it was invalid

India, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, West Indian Islands and South Africa teams, franchise and domestic teams participated. Mumbai Indians won six CLT20 championships between Chennai Super Kings, Sydney Sixers and New South Wales Blues.

He worked well for the first three years (2009, 2010 and 2011), but the interest of the audience fell. Sponsorship did not carry the expected fruit, and ultimately, CLT20 was scrapped after 6 editions in 2014. What everyone understood was that although it didn’t work, it was a unique product.

Return of IPL President Franchise League Contest

It has been mentioned to revive the tournament for a while. Big 3 (India, Australia and England) expressed the interest in bringing the CLT20 back last year.

“I think it was in front of the Champions League time. The view of the T20 was not mature enough at that point. Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins said last year.

And the current IPL president and former BCCI Treasurer Arun did not manage the possibility of Dhumal. “It was done before the time of opportunity for such an event. Dhumal told Espncricinfo.

What would the ‘new’ clt20 look like?

In the last 11 years, franchise cricket has developed. Each nation has its own league. In many countries, there are even sub -leases. If the CLT20 reappears, we can see IPL, Pakistan Super League (PSL), Big Bash League (IPL), face, SA20, Major League Cricket (MLC), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Lanka Premier League (LPL) sets. Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and ILT20. But that may not happen. Super Smash (New Zealand) or T20 Blast (UK) can also include teams from internal competitions.

Window problems

The largest will be to find a window to play the tournament. September 13 – October 4 was the last program of CLT20. And that may work right now. CPL ends in mid -September, and then there is a window in which large franchise leagues do not play.

However, there is a problem. He cannot neglect the international jack. Australia, England and India are particularly serious in the test jack, and even if one of the series coincides, CLT20 cannot be played.

A player, more than one franchise

Another big problem that emerged before was the choice. Players like Rashid Khan are in every big league. So, which team does he play for? Let’s say that they are entitled to play for Birmingham Phoenix (face)? This will be difficult to navigate.
